History of AVOF

"The History"

The Angelic Voices of Faith (AVOF) was founded in 1988 under the Black Student Fellowship to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ through singing to the local and college campus youth.  It was realized that many of the young men and women who attend the university lost all church affiliations after entering into college.  Formally known as the Livingston Gospel Choir, the choir changed their name to the Angelic Voices of Faith due to the fact that the choir was not recognized on the campus; therefore it could not carry the university's name.  The Angelic Voices of Faith (now under the direction of Margie Walker, Head Director and D'Undray Peterson, Advisor) has reached outstanding heights.  AVOF is now a recognized organization on the University of West Alabama campus.  This organization is a self-funded organization, and we believe that if "you seek ye first the kingdom of Heaven and His righteousness, then all things shall be added unto you."
